Former U.S. President Donald Trump keeps drawing global attention with his controversial actions as president. Lately, he has been in the limelight not only for his recent diplomatic breakthrough in the Middle East but also for his candid remarks about his prospects in the afterlife.
Recall that in August, Trump revealed that he hopes his current peacemaking efforts could earn him divine favour.
“I want to try to get to heaven, if possible. I’m hearing I’m not doing well.
I am really at the bottom of the totem pole.
But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons,” he said, referencing his efforts to mediate in Ukraine.
However, speaking during a flight aboard Air Force One this week, Trump dampened has chances of making heaven when asked whether the Gaza ceasefire might be enough to secure his place in paradise.
According to him, he’ll most likely fail to heaven when he leaves this world, and nothing he does from now until he dies will change that fact.
The US President noted that he has already made peace with the fact that he has bettered and is still bettering the lives of many people on earth.
“I’m being a little cute I don’t think there’s anything going to get me in heaven. I think I’m maybe not heaven-bound.
I may be in heaven right now as we fly in Air Force One. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make heaven, but I’ve made life a lot better for a lot of people,” Trump said.
Trump further reiterated his long-standing claim that the war in Ukraine could have been avoided had he won re-election in 2020.
“I knew Putin very well. I was the apple of his eye. All the things that I’ve said never would have happened,” he added.
