The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has successfully repaired and recommissioned the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) in Warri, Delta State, three weeks after a December 10, 2025 explosion disrupted operations.
The state oil company activated emergency response measures immediately after the incident, deploying technical teams and containment protocols to address the damage. The affected pipeline section has undergone full repairs, pressure testing, and safe recommissioning, with operations now fully restored.
NNPC Ltd. credited the rapid turnaround to collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including local communities, regulatory bodies, security agencies, and its technical partners. The company emphasized that the restoration was completed while maintaining rigorous safety and environmental standards.
“This collective effort turned a challenging incident into a success story, enabling operations to be restored in record time while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship,” NNPC Ltd. stated.
