Bishop David Oyedepo, Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), has cautioned gospel ministers against using deception to advance their ministries.
The senior cleric delivered the message on Sunday during the concluding service of his church’s 21-day fasting and prayer program at the international headquarters in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.
During the third service, Oyedepo emphasized that integrity remains fundamental to lasting ministerial success.
“You won’t last in ministry telling lies,” the bishop declared. “I stand before God, I will never tell lies about what God did not do just to impress anyone.”
He highlighted that ministers who remain faithful to biblical truth and attribute success solely to God position themselves for significant spiritual achievement.
“Holding fast to the validity of the Scripture and boasting in the Lord makes you scale enviable heights,” Oyedepo explained.
The cleric also encouraged worshippers to maintain their devotion to Christ, emphasizing that complete reliance on divine guidance ensures triumph over adversity.
“To secure your restoration, keep your love for Jesus alive. Just allow God to lead you, and He will drown your enemies in the Red Sea. For anything you may ever need in life, Jesus is more than enough,” he stated.
Sharing a personal account, Oyedepo recalled witnessing the recovery of someone close to him in Ile-Ife who suffered mental illness after psalms were read to the individual.
“Long ago, a close person to me in Ife was struck with insanity. I asked that Psalms be read to him. He read it, and the insanity left,” he recounted.
The bishop concluded by expressing unwavering confidence in divine protection against any malicious schemes.
