Westpaq International, in collaboration with Subsurface Consultants and Associates (SCA), has opened an advanced Energy Industry Training Facility at Eko Atlantic City, Lagos, marking a significant investment in Nigeria’s energy sector workforce development.
The state-of-the-art center, officially inaugurated on January 30, 2026, will provide specialized training for integrated energy companies, service providers, and regulatory agencies, focusing on capability building, leadership development, and sector-wide transformation.
The launch ceremony drew notable attendance from Bradley McKinney, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Commercial Service, along with the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, Consul General, senior Commercial Service officials, and representatives from American diplomatic missions in Nigeria.
“This training facility represents a major step forward in supporting Nigeria’s energy industry growth and development,” a Westpaq International spokesperson stated. “Our commitment lies in partnering to build local capacity and foster innovation throughout the sector.”
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, DAS McKinney convened a strategic roundtable with executives from major U.S. energy firms operating in Nigeria, including ExxonMobil, Chevron, Schlumberger, Halliburton, and Westpaq International. Participants explored partnership opportunities, addressed industry challenges, and outlined strategies for accelerating Nigeria’s energy sector expansion.
The facility features cutting-edge technology designed to create an immersive learning environment. It will offer comprehensive training programs, workshops, and seminars focused on enhancing technical expertise, developing leadership skills, and promoting industry best practices across the energy sector.
