The Federal Government has renewed its commitment to restoring peace in Zamfara State following the defection of Governor Dauda Lawal to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Vice President Kashim Shettima made this known on Tuesday in Gusau during a ceremony marking the governor’s formal entry into the ruling party.
He assured that the government would intensify efforts to curb the persistent banditry in the state by deploying additional security personnel and necessary equipment to safeguard lives and property.
Shettima congratulated Lawal on his move to the APC, pledging the full backing of the Federal Government to support governance and accelerate development in Zamfara.
He also called on residents to rally behind the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Lawal, urging continued support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
