Human rights lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a formidable political figure who would be difficult to defeat, even in a free and fair election.

Speaking during an appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Adeyanju acknowledged Tinubu’s deep-rooted political influence and strategic strength, despite being a longstanding critic of the administration.

He noted that the president has developed a strong reputation for winning elections and maintaining political control, attributing this to his extensive network and experience within Nigeria’s power structure.

“Jagaban knows how to win, even in a free and fair election,” Adeyanju said.

The activist further highlighted Tinubu’s wide-reaching support base, claiming that a large number of state governors and key political figures align with him, reinforcing his dominance on the national stage.

Adeyanju stressed that Tinubu’s ability to build and sustain alliances sets him apart, describing his political machinery as highly effective. According to him, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) remains firmly in control of the political space.

He added that while opposition exists, only the African Democratic Congress (ADC) currently shows potential to mount a significant challenge to the APC’s dominance.
