Foluke Daramola, Other Nollywood Stars Attend Tope Osoba’s Burial

Nollywood actress Tope Osoba has been laid to rest in Ogun State, following a funeral service held on Thursday.

Her remains were taken from the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, to Akesan Club in Iperu Remo, where family members, friends and colleagues gathered to honour her memory.

The funeral ceremony was attended by several Nollywood personalities, including Foluke Daramola, Kunle Afod, Joke Jigan and Basira Badia.

Following the service, Osoba’s remains were taken to the Iperu Remo Cemetery for interment. Many of the mourners were dressed in white as they gathered to bid the actress a final farewell.

Osoba’s death was announced on August 5, 2026, nearly two years after she underwent breast cancer surgery in November 2024.

Her family had initially scheduled her burial for August 13, following a candlelight procession and an artiste tribute night held in her honour on August 11. However, the burial was later postponed to allow the family to complete additional arrangements and address other outstanding matters.

After her death, several claims surfaced online about the circumstances surrounding her passing. Some reports linked her death to emotional distress, while allegations were also made against her fiancé, Itunu Onadeko, and members of his family over alleged mistreatment during her illness.

The Celestial Church of Christ, where Onadeko serves as a shepherd, subsequently announced that it had launched an internal investigation into the allegations and circumstances surrounding Osoba’s death.
