Former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has taken yet another swipe at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He recently vowed to work against his re-election in 2027 under a new political platform – the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Speaking to a crowd of loyalists at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Amaechi described Rivers State as “notorious for writing election results and declaring winners,” urging his supporters not to collaborate with electoral manipulators.
According to him, ADC has come to challenge and replace the current administration because the APC cannot continue to inflict unprecedented hardship on Nigerians.
He called on Rivers people and Nigerians at large to register with the coalition party to get rid of the oppressors.
“If you are not tired of President Tinubu, I’m tired of President Tinubu. If you’re not hungry, I’m hungry.
If the rich are spending ₦4 million monthly on electricity, only God knows how the poor are surviving. And the President says he doesn’t care. The ADC is here to care,” he said.
Rotimi Amaechi further blasted Tinubu for his indifference to the suffering of Nigerians, insisting that the APC-led government must be replaced in 2027 for the nation to flourish again.
He pledged not to associate with anyone who rigs elections or announces doctored results during the journey to take power back from the politicians who are misusing it.
He concluded by saying that every Rivers indigene who loves the state and Nigeria would register with the ADC to trigger positive change.
“This coming is to reassure our supporters and Rivers people that there is a new party in town. Every Rivers man who loves this state and country should register with the ADC and help end the hunger,” he added.
Rotimi’s comments and the rally have increased political tensions in Rivers State and stirred nee debates around the country’s 2027 presidential election landscape.
