AFROVISION X 2026, a month-long global festival celebrating African and Caribbean creativity, will take place across Toronto, Brampton, and Mississauga from June 1 to June 30, 2026. Produced by Grandieu Inc., the festival will showcase multidisciplinary arts and culminate in the prestigious AFROVISION X Awards Gala.
Nigeria officially begins its activation phase in January 2026, with Inspiro Productions leading strategic mobilization and stakeholder engagement ahead of the Canadian showcase.
The festival serves as a cultural and economic platform spanning fashion, film, music, theatre, and visual arts. It aims to position Africa’s creative economy on the global stage, bringing together creatives, cultural institutions, governments, investors, and diaspora communities from Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond.
Nigeria, recognized as a powerhouse of African creativity, is expected to play a leading role in the festival, which coincides with the 2026 FIFA World Cup period, amplifying its international reach.
Nigeria’s Activation Programme
The Nigerian activation will include engagement with public and private sector stakeholders, sponsorship drives, creative mobilization across multiple disciplines, a Lagos-based international press conference, and the release of official participation guidelines for designers, filmmakers, musicians, and performers.
David Bebiem, Lead Convener of AFROVISION X 2026, said the festival is committed to showcasing African and Caribbean creativity at world-class standards. Ayoola Sadare, CEO of Inspiro Productions, described the event as a global marketplace for Nigerian creativity, with efforts underway to ensure maximum participation.
Festival Programme
The festival opens June 1, 2026, with a grand ceremony featuring a “Journey Through Africa” cultural showcase, live performances, fashion previews, film trailers, art displays, the AFROVISION X Anthem premiere, and fireworks.
Fashion Week runs June 3-7, featuring runway presentations, panel discussions on African fashion’s global influence, and a style marketplace. The Film Festival follows June 9-14, spotlighting Nollywood, Caribbean, and diaspora premieres, documentaries, and industry roundtables.
Arts, theatre, and performing arts take centre stage June 16-20, while World Music Week, June 21-27, features Afrobeat, reggae, soca concerts, a Night of Legends tribute, masterclasses, and a World Music Day parade through Toronto.
The festival concludes June 30, 2026, with the AFROVISION X Awards Gala, celebrating excellence across creative disciplines.
Economic Impact
Beyond cultural celebration, AFROVISION X 2026 positions itself as a global creative marketplace and economic bridge, strengthening collaboration between Canada, Africa, and the Caribbean in trade, tourism, and creative industries. Expected bilateral engagements and MOUs aim to drive growth, job creation, and youth empowerment.
