Fast-rising Nollywood actress, Bimbo Ademoye, has emerged as winner in Best Actress in Comedy/TV Series, at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), breaking the five-year record held by her senior colleague, Funke Akindele.
She was nominated alongside top contenders including, Roselyn Ngissah’s “Red Carpet”, Funke Akindele’s “Battle On Buka Street”, Grace Wacuka’s “Married to Work”, Mercy Johnson‘s “Battle On Buka Street”, and Mercy Johnson Onogie‘s “Passport.”
The organizers of the show expressed their delight on Twitter, announcing Bimbo as the winner and conveying their excitement about this fast-rising actress’s achievement.
“We’re thrilled to announce that the #AMVCA9 ‘Best Actress in a Comedy/TV Series’ award goes to the talented [@BimboAdemoye Selina]! 🏆 We celebrate her comedic talent and unforgettable performances. Congratulations!” it wrote.
Apple’s Bite reports that Bimbo was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy/TV series at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in 2018, for her role in the film Backup Wife (2017).
