President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the renewal of tenure for three Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service, in line with existing public service regulations.
The renewed appointments, which will take effect from April 27, 2026, grant the officials a second and final four-year term as stipulated in the Public Service Rule (PSR) 020909. Under the rule, Permanent Secretaries initially serve a four-year term and may be considered for one additional four-year tenure subject to satisfactory performance.
Those whose tenures were renewed include Ms. Kachallom Shangti Daju, Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare; Mrs. Beatrice Jedy-Agba, Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Justice; and Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe, Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Regional Development.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, congratulated the officials on their reappointment and urged them to view the renewed mandate as an opportunity to further strengthen service delivery.
She encouraged them to deploy their wealth of experience and professional expertise toward improving the efficiency and effectiveness of public administration in the country.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on March 6, 2026, by the Director of Press and Public Relations in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Eno Olotu.
