The Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, has resigned from his role following strong allegations of certificate forgery levelled against him. FG recently confirmed his resignation, stating that President Tinubu has accepted Nnaji’s decision.
In a press statement by the president’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the resignation letter was tendered today, and Nnaji expressed gratitude to BAT for the opportunity to serve his country.
According to him, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji blamed being blackmailed by political opponents for his decision to quit his position as minister.
He concluded by saying that President Tinubu appreciated Nnaji for his service and wished him all the best for the future.
“Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following some allegations against him.
President Tinubu appointed Nnaji in August 2023.
He resigned today in a letter thanking the President for allowing him to serve Nigeria.
Nnaji said he has been a target of blackmail by political opponents,” it read.
