Ecobank Nigeria has introduced the Ecobank Business App, a mobile banking solution aimed at supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) nationwide. The platform enables business owners to handle payments, track transactions, manage cash flow, and conduct daily financial operations from their smartphones, reducing time spent on administrative tasks and improving operational efficiency. The app is accessible through both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
At the Lagos launch event, Kola Adeleke, Executive Director of Consumer and Commercial Banking, emphasized that the app was built to meet the specific needs of Nigeria’s varied SME sector. The platform serves traders, retailers, technology startups, e-commerce ventures, hospitality businesses, agricultural producers, manufacturers, construction companies, professional service providers, social commerce operators, educational institutions, and membership organizations requiring reliable financial oversight.
According to Adeleke, the app offers targeted benefits across sectors: faster payment processing for merchants, streamlined digital transactions for online sellers, simplified vendor and payroll management for hospitality operators, timely payment infrastructure for agricultural supply chains, and secure handling of large transactions for manufacturers and contractors. Professional service providers can generate invoices and receive payments efficiently, while schools and associations can manage fees and membership dues through a unified interface.
The launch supports Ecobank’s wider strategy to strengthen SMEs through digital tools, sector-focused services, and financial products including structured lending, trade finance, guarantees, and equipment funding. The initiative also forms part of the bank’s efforts to reactivate inactive SME accounts, expand market reach, encourage digital banking adoption, and develop supply chain financing through corporate partnerships.
Through the Ecobank Business App, Ecobank Nigeria reinforces its role as a strategic partner to SMEs across industries, providing digital infrastructure that enhances business management, accelerates growth, and improves competitive positioning in Nigeria’s evolving digital economy.
