Popular content creator to lead campaign spotlighting daily transportation struggles in Nigeria’s commercial capital
Global mobility platform inDrive has appointed Nigerian content creator and actress Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, widely known as KieKie, as its Chief Wahala Officer (CWO) in a bold campaign to address the daily transportation challenges facing millions of Lagos residents.
The appointment follows an unprecedented public response to the creative hiring initiative, which drew over 450 applications from Nigerians eager to champion the cause of better urban mobility.
As Chief Wahala Officer, KieKie will spearhead the #inDriveCWO campaign, bringing visibility to persistent commuter grievances including crippling traffic congestion, unreliable transport options, delivery bottlenecks, and the general difficulty of navigating Africa’s most populous city.
“KieKie is a perfect fit for this role because she represents exactly what this campaign is about: authenticity, humour and relatability,” said Timothy Oladimeji, Country Manager for inDrive Nigeria. “In a city like Lagos, where mobility comes with its own daily wahala, we needed someone who can reflect that reality in a way that is both entertaining and truthful, and KieKie does that effortlessly.”
The campaign strategy centres on community engagement, encouraging commuters to share personal experiences and perspectives through social media, thereby amplifying public discourse on practical solutions for easier movement across the metropolis.
“I am finally happy to announce that I am the Chief Wahala Officer,” KieKie said at her unveiling. “My dear Lagosians, any delivery or ride-hailing wahala you may be facing is now in the past. Don’t worry, I am on duty, which means everything will go back to normal.”
The initiative marks inDrive’s latest effort to distinguish itself in Nigeria’s competitive mobility market by aligning its brand with grassroots advocacy and locally resonant storytelling.
