Popular Afrobeats singer Seun Kuti has reacted to the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He recently accused the APC leader of inflicting grave damage on his family, and fans have been reacting.
Speaking via a video on his Instagram page, Seun revealed that no Nigerian family suffered more under Buhari’s rule than his own.
According to him, he’ll never forget the persecution and injustices endured by his father and uncles, the late Dr. Beko Ransome-Kuti and Koye Ransome-Kuti, during Muhammadu’s military regime in the 1980s.
He, however, stated that despite the affliction Buhari’s government inflicted on his loved ones, his death is not a source of joy for him.
“There’s nobody Buhari has offended and damaged like my family. Buhari dealt with my family, but his death is not any type of justice or victory for us,” he wrote.
Seun further expressed regret that Fela and his uncles died long before the former president, stressing that they were better men who deserved to live longer.
The musician concluded by saying that the only consolation for him is the thought that his late relatives are currently confronting Buhari in the afterlife.
“My only regret is that my dad Fela, and my uncles Koye and Beko died before him.
The only solace I can take from his death is that the three of them will gang up against him in the afterlife if there’s such a thing,” he added.
