Former Secretary General of the Commonwealth and Chairman of The Patriots, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, will on Thursday, May 1, (May Day) in Lagos, unveil a distinguished 24-member committee tasked with coordinating the proposed National Political Summit of Nigeria. The summit is scheduled to take place on May 28-29, 2025.
Current Senator and Former Ogun State Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel and former House of Representatives Speaker Aminu Tambuwal will co-chair this high-profile national initiative. Both distinguished leaders have been appointed to head the Summit Coordinating Committee that will shape Nigeria’s constitutional future.

According to the joint secretariat of The Patriots and Nigerian Political Summit Group (NPSG), this pan-Nigerian conference aims to:
- Examine and chart a new course for Nigeria’s constitutional democracy after 25 years of civil rule
- Respond to growing insecurity and instability in parts of the country
- Build national consensus on appropriate governance structures for political cohesion
- Develop a stakeholders’ legislative bill for inclusive political reforms
- Create a new democratic people’s Constitution capable of addressing internal disharmony and separatist insecurity
