Suspected bandits have kidnapped the wife and son of the All Progressives Congress (All Progressives Congress) chairman of Yauri Local Government Area in Kebbi State, Alhaji Yusuf Alhasan.
The attack reportedly occurred at the chairman’s residence in the Low-Cost area of Yauri Local Government Area between midnight on Sunday and the early hours of Monday. The armed men were said to have stormed the home and forcefully whisked away the two family members during the overnight raid.
Local media sources, including Radio Nagari FM, reported that the assailants specifically targeted members of the chairman’s household in what appeared to be a coordinated operation.
As of the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the victims remain unknown, while anxiety continues to grow among residents of the area.
Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Kebbi State Police Command were unsuccessful, as calls and messages were not returned.
Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, and no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction.
