U.S. President Donald Trump has said that there would be serious consequences if Elon Musk funds Democratic candidates to run against Republicans who vote in favoir of the GOP’s sweeping budget bill.
He recently shared that while he cannot share what the consequences would be, he can guarantee that there would be repercussions.
Speaking to NBC News during a phone interview, Trump said that if Elon Musk goes ahead to sponsor the Democrats like he said he would, he should prepare for his counteraction.
“If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences for that. He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that,” he said.
Pestered to share what those consequences would be, the president said that it is for him to know and the world to find out.
On if he intends to repair his relationship with Musk after their feud erupted into public view, Trump revealed that he has no desire to get their friendship back to the way it was.
Asked if his relationship with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO is completely over, he responded, “I would assume so, yeah. I’m too busy doing other things. I have no intention of speaking to him.”
He further accused the X owner of being completely disrespectful to the office of the President, stressing that it is a very wrong thing to do.
Trump concluded by saying that Elon’s allegation about him being included in the Epstein files is false because even Jeffrey’s lawyer said he had nothing to do with his client’s crimes.
“That’s called ‘old news,’ that’s been old news, that has been talked about for years. Even Epstein’s lawyer said I had nothing to do with it. It’s old news.
I think it’s a very bad thing, because he’s very disrespectful. You could not disrespect the office of the President,” he added.
