The Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Senator David Mark, has come out to mourn the death of Nigeria’s immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari.
He recently revealed that Buhari died at a crucial moment when his fatherly guidance was badly needed to get Nigeria back on track.
Speaking via a press statement released through his media aide, Paul Mumeh, Mark said that Nigeria has definitely lost a hero and a selfless leader.
According to him, Buhari was a rare patriot who gave everything to ensure Nigeria regained its prosperity and retained its unity.
“Nigeria has lost a hero, an uncommon patriot and a selfless leader who gave his all for the good of our nation.
The greatest sacrifice which would be difficult to fault was his love for this country, particularly, her unity,” he said.
He further noted that the former president’s passing couldn’t have happened at a more terrible time, stressing the need for his wisdom amid the country’s recent troubles.
Mark concluded by saying the deceased would be remembered for fighting to keep the nation united against all odds.
“It is sad that President Buhari transitioned to the great beyond at this time but we are consoled that his legacy of keeping the nation united will endure,” he added.
