The founder of Omega Power Ministries, Chibuzor Chinyere, has announced an unusual offer of financial and material support to any man willing to marry his adopted daughter, Chiemeka Chibuzor.
In a post shared on Facebook on Tuesday, the cleric said the arrangement is intended to secure the well-being and long-term care of the 21-year-old, who is autistic. He noted that while she can speak and hear, she requires continued support to live a stable and fulfilling life.
Chinyere outlined specific criteria for interested suitors, stating that the prospective husband must be young and in sound physical and mental health. In return, he pledged a range of incentives, including lifetime financial assistance, free accommodation, and a house to be jointly owned by the couple. He also disclosed that officials from the church would conduct periodic, unannounced visits to ensure the woman’s safety and proper care.
According to him, the initiative is driven by a desire to guarantee that his daughter is protected, supported, and able to enjoy a happy life within a structured environment.
This development comes weeks after a similar arrangement facilitated by the pastor, in which a non-verbal autistic man popularly known as Aboy was married to an older woman in a ceremony held on March 29. The event sparked widespread debate, with critics questioning issues around consent, personal dignity, and the ethics of arranging marriages for individuals with cognitive disabilities.
In response to the criticism, Chinyere later gifted the man—now known as Elijah—a Lexus car and a plot of land, and appointed him as an ambassador for the church’s free school dedicated to children living with autism and Down syndrome.
