PDP House of Reps Primaries: OmoBarca Denies Allegation on Attacking, Bribing Returning Officers
Chief Francis Barthlomew Chima aka OmoBarca, a frontline House of Representatives candidate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party for Ajeromi-Ifelodun constitutency in Lagos State, has denied allegations of violence, bribery and presentation of fake delegates during the re-run primaries, by Rita Orji reports.
OmoBarca who was declared winner during the May 22nd PDP primaries in Lagos State told newsmen that he was shocked by the false accusations made against him by his opponent Rita Orji in Tribune Newspaper.
Rita Orji and her co-travellers had told the newspaper:
“OmoBarca presented a fake delegate list during the re-run primaries, when the Returning officer from Abuja rejected the fictitious list, Omo-Barca attacked the Returning officer. It should be of note that prior to the presentation of the fake Delegates list from Omo-Barca to the Returning officer, the Returning Officer had also rejected N7million from Omo-Barca.”
OmoBarca while addressing newsmen described the allegation as false, baseless and unfounded. He stated that he may consult his lawyers to sue Rita Orji for defamation of character and political blackmail. Accodring to him, Rita Orji’s thugs were caught by the police with pistol when they tried to cause mayhem on the day of the first primaries. One of the thugs who double as her Chief Security Officer, Mr Philip Ehis attempted to shoot him (OmoBarca) and scuttle the electoral process.
He was arrested by the police at the Umuoji hall venue of the election. Ehis is still in police custody.
According to a PDP Stalwart in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Constituency who spoke to our reporter, Rita Orji has constituted a painful nuisance to the entire PDP family:
“There’s nothing Rita Orji has not falsely accused OmoBarca of, all these in the bid to smear his growing reputation amongst party faithfuls of Ajeromi-Ifelodun. However, all have come to naught as his acceptance keeps soaring daily.
We want to implore Hon Rita Orji to accept the will of the people as her true nature and character has been exposed to all, her desperation to upturn the wish of the people to her favor has met several resistance from the people that matter. We are fully aware of how she’s has been calling on several PDP governors and party leaders to manipulate the result all to no avail. Hon Rita should have seen the handwriting on the wall that her time of deceit and manipulation is over, a new dawn, a breath of fresh air and new dispensation in the live of the people of AJIF through Hon Omobarca has come to stay. Omobarca we know! Omobarca we want! Omobarca we will follow! We therefore implore the state and national leaders of our party to kindly ignore the rantings of Rita Orji and call her to order as her desperation if not checkmated, will lead her to serious trouble and the party to failure!”
