An unidentified man, believed to be in his mid-40s, has been found dead inside a drainage channel along Admiralty Way, Lekki, Lagos.
The body was reportedly discovered in the early hours of Monday, October 5, 2026, near the Freedom Way junction, causing concern among residents and passers-by in the area.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death remain unclear. It has not been established whether he was knocked down by a vehicle in a possible hit-and-run incident before his body ended up in the drainage channel.
The identity of the deceased has also not been confirmed as of the time of filing this report.
Residents and other members of the public have called on the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) to promptly remove the body from the drainage channel.
They said the evacuation was necessary to prevent possible public health risks and ensure that the appropriate authorities can carry out further investigations into the incident.
Authorities are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and establish his identity.
