Popular Board of Trustees member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olabode George, has openly accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of actively undermining the party’s established system.
He recently revealed that Wike is actively working with the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Speaking during an interview with Arise TV, Bode said that Wike is nothing but a loose cannon whose actions are detrimental to the PDP’s unity and future plans.
According to him, all committees at PDP, including reconciliation efforts led by figures like Bukola Saraki, ultimately report to the National Executive Committee, and NEC holds the ultimate authority, second only to the national convention.
He stated that the party’s inability to convene a NEC meeting for a long period of time led to the ongoing crisis in the party.
“He seems like he’s very much the loose cannon of the party that’s hell-bent on destroying it. In fact, he seems to have succeeded on some levels, working hand-in-hand with the APC,” he said.
The PDP chieftain confirmed that the party has finally resolved the procedural hurdles, and a vital NEC meeting is scheduled to be held on July 23rd.
Stressing that politicians of Wike’s status cannot be fired easily, George maintained that such characters will be held accountable through the party’s established processes.
The upcoming NEC meeting is anticipated to be a crucial moment for the PDP, where all outstanding problems, including those related to Wike’s alleged anti-party activities, will be addressed and resolved.
