A Harare woman has explosively claimed her former lover and his wife forced her to abort 15 times before she was ultimately dumped.
The bitter fallout unfolded in front of magistrate in , Zimbabwe yesterday, October 1, as Sharon Zhuwawo and her lover’s wife, Valentine Mahlupeko, aired their grievances in a heated court session.
H-Metro reports that Sharon alleged that Valentine pressured her lover, Goodwill Ndarama, to force her into multiple abortions, which culminated in a miscarriage and the end of their relationship. She claimed that after the miscarriage, Ndarama abandoned her and moved on to seven other women.
“Valentine was the one who brainwashed Goodwill to take me to have all those abortions. She always told me that I would never bear a child as long as she is alive.
“I will not stop until I get my revenge on her, given I went through 15 abortions, a miscarriage, and ended up being divorced with Goodwill opting for his seven other girlfriends. I will not rest until she dies.”
Magistrate Mashavire warned Sharon against seeking revenge, advising her to avoid taking the law into her own hands. The magistrate said “war will never be a solution to the tension between the two of you. You are advised that if you break the rules stated by the court, you will be held accountable.”
Sharon, however, was unrelenting, maintaining that she had been married to Ndarama for six years despite Valentine’s presence in his life. “I am not a side chick but Goodwill’s wife, and we have been married for six years. She (Valentine) was aware of our marriage because she participated during my lobola negotiations,” Sharon added.
In response, Valentine described her ordeal, saying the dispute intensified after her husband ended things with Sharon and became involved with seven other women. Valentine claimed Sharon frequently threatened her with violence, blaming her for the collapse of her relationship.
He said; “She calls me every night, threatening to kill me after my husband left her for his seven girlfriends. Sharon comes to my house, accusing me of causing her divorce. She threatened to dump her unborn child at my doorstep.
“Two weeks after she miscarried, she blamed me for the incident, calling me a witch. I now live in fear because she is always threatening to kill me for things that I am not aware of.”
Valentine has since sought a peace order against Sharon.
