The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of candidates who participated in the first batch of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement issued on Friday by the Board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, candidates can now access their results, although printing of result slips is not yet available.
JAMB cautioned candidates against tampering with the SMS notifications received from its official result-checking channels, warning that altering or fabricating scores to deceive others—including parents—constitutes a serious criminal offence.
How to Check Your Result
Candidates are required to send UTMERESULT via SMS to either 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number used during registration.
Arrests Over Result Manipulation
The Board also revealed that two candidates and a parent have been arrested for allegedly falsifying results using artificial intelligence and other electronic tools. According to JAMB, the suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution.
The examination body stressed that it will not tolerate any form of malpractice, reiterating that anyone found guilty will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
JAMB added that the UTME exercise is still ongoing, and additional results will be released in batches as they are processed.
