Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has dismissed claims of a disagreement with his Ogun State counterpart, Dapo Abiodun, calling such reports false and misleading.
In a statement released Thursday by his media adviser Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu said the relationship between him and Abiodun remains cordial, with both governors meeting regularly to discuss matters affecting their states.
“Prince Dapo Abiodun and Mr Sanwo-Olu meet regularly and speak with each other frequently on the development of their states and in the interest of their people,” the statement read.
The statement noted that Lagos and Ogun states share boundaries and socio-cultural ties, urging those spreading misinformation to stop their attempts at creating discord between the two leaders.
Sanwo-Olu also congratulated Ogun Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele on her 60th birthday, praising her contributions to the state’s development.
In the congratulatory message, the Lagos governor described Salako-Oyedele as a dependable partner to Abiodun, saying their collaboration has contributed to Ogun State’s progress.
“On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke, the people and government of Lagos State, I wish Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. (Mrs) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, many happy returns as she celebrates her 60th birthday today,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He commended her as a seasoned technocrat and administrator who has served in both private and public sectors for over three decades, praying for her continued good health and service to humanity.
