Actor and producer Rotimi Salami has revealed that Kilanko: The Invisible Child, a film directed by his late colleague Allwell Ademola, will arrive in cinemas next month.
The project, which Salami produced and Ademola directed before her passing in December 2025, represents a collaboration born from their shared vision for Nigerian cinema.
Salami described the film as “our project” and a vehicle to establish Ademola’s enduring legacy in the industry. He explained that he managed production logistics, financing, and sponsorship while Ademola concentrated on the creative direction.
“When I proposed we create something significant, she felt unprepared,” Salami recalled. “I reassured her, saying I would handle production if she would direct.”
The producer has called on industry colleagues and cinema audiences to rally behind the release, noting that support extends beyond actors to anyone willing to help with promotional content and social media visibility.
Kilanko: The Invisible Child will premiere on March 1, followed by its general cinema release on March 6 through Cinemax distribution.
Ademola, who passed away on December 27, built a reputation across both Yoruba and English-language productions throughout her multi-decade career as an actress, director, and producer. Her death prompted widespread mourning in Nollywood, with peers remembering her dedication to filmmaking both on screen and behind the scenes.
Kilanko stands among Ademola’s final directorial works and is positioned to become a significant part of her artistic legacy.
