Investment app Bamboo has struggled to cope with a surge in user traffic triggered by the ongoing public offer for shares in Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE, leaving some subscribers locked out of their accounts.
The company confirmed the disruption in a post on its official X account, explaining that unusually high demand from users trying to participate in the Dangote IPO had made it difficult for some to log in.
“Hey everyone, we’re getting a much higher-than-expected traffic trying to get into the Dangote IPO, and it’s making it difficult for some users to log into the Bamboo app,” the company said, adding that a fix was already in progress.
Bamboo did not specify when full access would be restored but assured affected users that the issue was being addressed.
The glitch underscores the scale of investor enthusiasm surrounding the Dangote Refinery IPO, which has drawn strong interest from Nigerians hoping to secure a stake in the company since the offer opened.
