Russia-born Nigerian actress and content creator, Fari Elysian, recently opened up about the reason behind her move from Russia to Nigeria, citing love as the driving force. In a candid discussion on The Time podcast hosted by Victoria Gure and Folasade Abimbola, Fari shared her journey of relocating to Nigeria in 2020 after falling in love with a Nigerian man.
Expressing her affection for the country, Fari stated, “I came to Nigeria because of a man. I was in love. I relocated to Nigeria in 2020. I’ve been here for three years now. And it’s beautiful. It’s amazing.” She further reflected on the common trend of people relocating in search of greener pastures, emphasizing the allure of experiencing something new and exotic.
Addressing the broader theme of migration, she commented, “People want something they don’t have; they appreciate something they don’t have more. Me coming here, it was all new to me. It was something I don’t have. I never had it, and I have it now. So, it’s like something new. It’s exotic. I found myself here. I discovered myself here. The same thing for Nigerians that are traveling out. People always want something they don’t have. It has always been like that.” Fari’s story reflects the universal theme of seeking and appreciating the unfamiliar in the pursuit of personal growth and fulfillment.
