The ANOH Gas Processing Company Limited (AGPC) has successfully delivered its first gas to Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), marking a significant shift from project development to full-scale commercial operations.
According to a statement signed by Olufemi Olokode, Manager of External Affairs and Communications at AGPC, the gas was transported through the NGIC 23.3-kilometre spur line and the Oando pipeline network. The development represents a major milestone in Nigeria’s midstream gas infrastructure expansion and broader efforts to monetise its vast natural gas resources.
AGPC said the commencement of supply from the ANOH Gas Processing Plant underscores the facility’s technical readiness and operational capacity to deliver processed natural gas safely and consistently to both domestic and export markets.
Located in Assa, Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, the plant has a nameplate processing capacity of 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd).
The milestone aligns with the Federal Government’s Decade of Gas Initiative, aimed at positioning natural gas as a driver of energy security, industrial growth and a cleaner energy transition. Increased feedstock supply to NLNG is also expected to bolster export volumes and enhance foreign exchange earnings.
Beyond infrastructure delivery, AGPC noted that the ANOH project has delivered socio-economic benefits to Imo State and its host communities through local content development, job creation and sustained stakeholder engagement.
AGPC is an incorporated joint venture between NNPC Limited and Seplat Energy Plc. The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining safe operations, regulatory compliance and delivering sustainable value to shareholders while supporting Nigeria’s long-term energy goals.
