President of the United States Donald Trump has accused his predecessor Barack Obama of treason.
He recently accused Obama of betraying America over a report alleging that officials in the Democrats’ administration had manipulated information on Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.
This is coming after Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard sent criminal referrals to the Justice Department related to a report that asserted the Obama officials had been part of a “treasonous conspiracy.”
According to Tulsi, Obama and his team manufactured intelligence regarding Russian election interference to “lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President Trump.”
The report was released in the face of proof amassed in 4 separate criminal, counterintelligence and watchdog probes issued between 2019 and 2023 – all of which confirmed that Russia did intervene on Trump’s behalf during the 2016 election.
Asked who the department should target over the report during an Oval Office press event with visiting Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos, Trump alleged Barack Obama is the mastermind of the controversy.
“Based on what I read — and I read pretty much what you read — it would be President Obama. He started it,” he said.
The U.S. president further blasted Obama’s then-vice president Joe Biden, former FBI director James Comey, former DNI director James Clapper and former CIA director John Brennan for being part of the conspiracy.
He, however, concluded by saying that Barack was the leader of the gang, stressing that he is guilty of treason.
