Dangote Industries Limited has introduced a whistleblower initiative that offers a ₦500,000 reward to members of the public who provide credible information leading to the arrest of individuals involved in the illegal use of its trucks or the recovery of unauthorized goods.
The company said the initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to protect the integrity of its nationwide logistics operations and curb the misuse of Dangote-branded vehicles for unauthorized commercial activities.
In a statement issued in Lagos, the company urged Nigerians to report any suspected cases of illegal haulage involving its trucks, emphasizing that each subsidiary’s vehicles are designated to transport only approved products.
According to the company, Dangote Cement trucks are authorized to convey only cement, limestone, high-grade gypsum, coal and clinker. Dangote Sugar Refinery trucks are restricted to transporting sugar products, while vehicles belonging to NASCON Allied Industries are approved to haul Dangote Salt and DanQ seasoning products.
It added that Dangote Packaging trucks are meant solely for bags and packaging materials, while Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals vehicles are permitted to transport polypropylene products. Trucks operated by Dangote Fertiliser Limited are authorized only for the movement of urea fertilizer.
The company warned that any Dangote-branded truck found carrying unauthorized goods would be considered to be engaged in illegal haulage. It noted that drivers and owners of such goods could face arrest, confiscation of the cargo and prosecution in accordance with the law.
Dangote stated that anyone whose information leads to the arrest of offenders or the interception of illegally transported goods would receive a cash reward of ₦500,000.
To assist investigations, the company advised whistleblowers to provide key details such as the truck type, registration number, cab number, location, description of the goods, vehicle colour and, where possible, photographs of the truck and its cargo.
The company also announced that dedicated hotlines have been established across its operations to receive reports, including incidents involving trucks from its Obajana, Okpella and Gboko plants.
Dangote said law enforcement agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, have been authorized to arrest drivers using company trucks for unauthorized commercial haulage.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy against logistics-related fraud, the company called on the public to support efforts to safeguard legitimate business operations by exposing illegal activities.
It added that the whistleblower programme is intended to strengthen transparency, accountability and compliance throughout its logistics network while protecting the Dangote brand and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.
