The Lagos State Government has assured residents of their safety as the proposed gas plant project in Ijora-Badia undergoes a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) review.
The state government said the review process is aimed at ensuring that the project complies with environmental standards and does not pose risks to surrounding communities. Officials stressed that the safety, health, and overall wellbeing of residents remain a top priority.
According to authorities, the EIA review will carefully examine potential environmental and social impacts of the gas plant before any final approvals are granted. The government added that necessary mitigation measures would be implemented to address any concerns identified during the assessment.
Residents were encouraged to remain calm and participate in the review process where necessary, as the government reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and sustainable development.
