Nigeria is set to host the 10th Sub-Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (SAIPEC). The most populous African nation will welcome Africa’s energy leaders in what has always been one of the continent’s most important gatherings.
The event, scheduled from 10-12 February 2026, is organized by the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) in partnership with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), NNPC Ltd, and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
The 10th SAIPEC event will bring together delegates from more than thirty national oil companies, regulators and investors from across Africa.
Its opening plenary will break down the regulatory and investment landscapes shaping the continent’s upstream and midstream growth.
Experts will rub minds on how domestic reforms like Nigeria’s Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), Angola’s concession restructuring and Ghana’s local content expansion can collectively create a regional investment ecosystem instead of fragmented markets.
The 3-day forum will help Africa align its oil and gas riches with a rapidly changing global energy landscape, finding a common ground between industrial growth, environmental responsibility and local content advancement.
SAIPEC’s 10th anniversary will not just be ceremonial; it’ll represent a key gathering for a continent whose economic structure still relies heavily on fossil fuels.
Africa holds approximately 7.2 per cent of the world’s proven oil reserves and almost 13 per cent of its natural gas reserves.
Nigeria alone sits atop 206 trillion cubic feet of gas, Angola and Mozambique are emerging as LNG exporters, while Senegal and Namibia are quickly becoming frontier producers.
