The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released the timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation programme.
According to a statement by Caroline Embu, Director of Information and Public Relations, the 21-day orientation exercise will take place simultaneously across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The schedule begins with the reception and registration of prospective corps members on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, continuing until midnight on Friday, April 24, 2026. The swearing-in ceremony, marking the formal induction of corps members into national service, is also set for April 24, 2026.
The orientation programme will conclude on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, after three weeks of structured activities. Participants will engage in paramilitary drills, lectures, and skills acquisition training designed to equip them for their national service duties.
NYSC also advised corps members to exercise caution while traveling, warning against night journeys. “Prospective Corps Members are advised to stop traveling after 6:00 pm and spend the night at available Corps Members’ Lodges, military formations, police stations/outposts, or traditional rulers’ palaces, then resume travel the following morning,” the statement added.
