As Nigeria marks Armed Forces Remembrance and Celebration Day 2026, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) under Commandant General Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has intensified its fight against oil theft and illegal mining activities threatening the nation’s economy.

The NSCDC has achieved notable successes in combating oil theft and illegal mining through intelligence-driven operations and strategic deployments. The Corps has dismantled oil theft networks, recovered stolen crude oil, and apprehended suspects involved in these economic crimes.
In the mining sector, the NSCDC has arrested illegal miners, confiscated equipment, and enforced environmental regulations. These efforts protect solid minerals essential to Nigeria’s economic development while preserving natural resources for future generations.
At the National Arcade, Abuja, Prof. Audi joined the nation in honoring fallen heroes and celebrating the sacrifices of security personnel. His message emphasized the NSCDC’s commitment to protecting Nigeria with loyalty, discipline, and honor.
