Popular philanthropist and chairman of the Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, has hailed Gombe State for its life-changing reforms in the health sector.
He recently described the state’s strides as inspiring and results-driven.
Speaking via a personal letter to the State Government, addressed via the Executive Secretary of the Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency and the Chief Executive of Human Capital Managers Nigeria Limited, Bill Gates appreciated Gombe State’s innovative leadership and dedication to improving health outcomes for its residents.
“I was impressed by Gombe’s problem-solving mindset and commitment to achieving results,” Gates wrote following a recent high-level meeting in Abuja.
He lauded the state’s focus on stakeholder engagement and strategic governance, emphasising that it is the foundation of its success.
According to him, Gombe’s health sector transformation is proof of how inspiring leadership can yield good results via thoughtful planning and technical execution.
The tech guru hailed the Human Resource for Health biometric attendance platform, a homegrown digital solution designed to improve data-driven decision-making by enhancing staff attendance monitoring and resource allocation.
He concluded by urging the state to keep up the good work, stressing that he would keep tracking the progress in Gombe with keen interest.
“The HRH biometric attendance platform is a compelling example of a state-led initiative to improve data availability for decision-making to optimise your resources.
Your leadership and innovation are remarkable,” he added.
