Activities commemorating the third coronation anniversary of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, are set to begin on Monday with a praise and worship session at the palace.
Chief Solomon Arenyeka, the Eson of Warri Kingdom and Chairman of the anniversary’s Publicity/Media Committee, announced the lineup of events to journalists in Warri, Delta State, on Saturday.
The week-long celebration will continue on Tuesday with homage-paying ceremonies and anniversary lectures at the palace from noon.
Wednesday, August 21, will see more homage-paying and an anniversary celebration at the palace. On Thursday, August 22, activities will shift to Ode Itsekiri, where there will be homage paying and a drama presentation.
The grand finale on Sunday, August 25, will feature a thanksgiving service at the palace.
Social media platforms like Facebook, X, and TikTok are already buzzing with goodwill messages from Itsekiri groups, celebrating the third anniversary of Ogiame Atuwatse III’s coronation.
The Olu of Warri assumed the throne on August 21, 2021, in a colorful coronation ceremony at Ode Itsekiri, the ancestral home of the Itsekiri nation in Warri South Local Government Area.
