Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), has commended the Federal Government for its ongoing economic reforms, saying the measures are improving investor confidence and creating a stronger foundation for sustainable economic growth.
Dangote said the fiscal, monetary and regulatory reforms introduced by the government were beginning to produce positive results, including improved macroeconomic stability, increased economic activity and higher productivity across key sectors.
According to him, the emerging gains demonstrate the need for the government to maintain consistent and market-oriented policies to sustain the recovery and attract additional investments.
He said the reforms were creating a more favourable environment for businesses, particularly large-scale manufacturing and industrial companies that play important roles in economic diversification, employment generation, foreign exchange earnings and national competitiveness.
Dangote also praised the government for pursuing policies designed to improve efficiency, encourage investment, promote transparency and strengthen domestic production.
“We commend the Federal Government for its courage and determination in implementing reforms that are essential for economic transformation,” Dangote said, adding that although reforms could come with initial difficulties, their benefits were becoming increasingly visible through improved economic indicators, stronger business confidence and renewed investor interest.
He linked the improving business environment to the continued expansion of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex, which he described as Africa’s largest integrated refining and petrochemical facility.
According to Dangote, policies supporting local refining, reducing reliance on imports, strengthening energy security and promoting domestic value addition have contributed to the refinery’s development and Nigeria’s wider industrialisation efforts.
He further stated that the refinery’s increasing production capacity and growing export activities were contributing to Nigeria’s economic recovery through foreign exchange earnings, job creation, stronger local supply chains and increased industrial activity.
Dangote said the development was also helping Nigeria position itself as a major energy and manufacturing hub on the African continent.
Reaffirming Dangote Industries Limited’s commitment to supporting the government’s economic agenda, he said the group would continue investing in strategic sectors while promoting innovation, industrial development and sustainable employment.
“Our vision has always been to support Nigeria’s economic development through transformative investments,” he said.
Dangote expressed optimism that continued reforms, policy stability and stronger cooperation between the government and private sector would accelerate economic growth, attract more foreign direct investment and enhance Nigeria’s position as one of Africa’s leading investment destinations.
