Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has lowered the price of aviation fuel (Jet A1) from ₦1,750 to ₦1,650 per litre.
The company said the ₦100 reduction is aimed at easing financial pressure on airline operators and ensuring steady fuel supply across the country.
In a statement issued by its media team on Tuesday, the refinery said the new price is expected to reduce operating costs for domestic airlines struggling with rising expenses.
It added that aviation fuel remains a major cost component for airlines, making price stability important for smooth and sustainable flight operations.
The refinery explained that the move is also intended to support airline operators and fuel marketers by improving access to Jet A1 and reducing the effects of price fluctuations in the sector.
It said the price cut should help lower operating costs and contribute to more stable airfares.
In addition, Dangote Refinery announced a 30-day interest-free credit facility for marketers and airline operators, backed by bank guarantees, to ease cash flow pressure in the supply chain.
The company also said it has moved from dollar-based pricing to a naira-based model to reduce exposure to foreign exchange volatility and improve price predictability for local buyers.
Industry operators have long complained that high Jet A1 costs, along with forex pressure and other charges, have increased the cost of flight operations in Nigeria.
Dangote Refinery said its latest measures are designed to support the aviation sector and ensure uninterrupted fuel supply nationwide.
