Nigerian music superstar Davido has shown unwavering support for the Super Eagles by placing a substantial bet exceeding N71 million ahead of their semi-final match against Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The artist revealed on his X platform that he staked $50,000 on Nigeria defeating the tournament hosts, with an additional prediction that both sides will find the net during the encounter.
Should his wager prove successful, Davido stands to collect approximately $348,274 — equivalent to over N500 million based on prevailing exchange rates.
The Grammy-nominated performer demonstrated his conviction in the national team, stating: “Nigeria to make the finals and I’ll double my stake on my slip.”
His public declaration has generated widespread attention among supporters and football enthusiasts as anticipation intensifies for the pivotal showdown in Rabat.
The match in Morocco’s capital promises to be a defining moment of the competition, pitting two continental powerhouses against each other.
Nigeria’s squad, featuring attacking talents Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, has delivered compelling performances throughout the tournament and now faces their most formidable challenge.
Meanwhile, Morocco enters the fixture carrying the weight of home expectations and an extended unbeaten streak. With influential figures including Achraf Hakimi and Brahim Diaz leading their charge, the Atlas Lions are pursuing their second AFCON title since their maiden triumph in 1976.
