DSS launches a manhunt for Danku, Efele, and others

Operatives of the Department of State Security from the Abuja headquarters on Friday arrived in Ogun state in the manhunt for some individuals believed to pose a threat to the conduct of the governorship election on Saturday. 

Operatives of the DSS were acting in response to security reports from the confessional statement of some individuals arrested with ammunition and firearms at the Avalon Hotel in Iperu on Tuesday. 

According to the team lead, the suspects confessed to having been mobilized by some individuals believed to be associates of the state governor, Dapo Abiodun.

Amongst those mentioned are Sokoya Taofik, a publicity secretary of the motorcycle union known to many as Danku; Chairman of the State Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Akibu Titilayo popular referred to as Efele; one Lukmon Adenekan known as; Mustapha Adewale Ismaila known as Yaro, Chairman Ogun State Operations Management Sevices (OSOMS); Chairman of Ogun State Park Management (OGSPAM), Akeem Bodunrin, also known as Iyeru.
Already the operatives have been divided across the districts in the state in pursuit of the individuals under watch. 

The Saturday election is believed to be a close race between three contenders.
Incumbent governor Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressive Congress is facing Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party, and the African Democratic Party’s candidate Biyi Otegbeye.
