Popular Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, professionally known as K1 De Ultimate, has issued a formal apology following an incident at Abuja airport that drew public criticism.

In a statement released to the public, the veteran musician acknowledged his conduct fell short of expectations and expressed regret for his actions.

“Yesterday challenged my individual capacity to manage crisis and obviously, I slipped on life’s banana-peel of momentary vulnerability,” K1 De Ultimate stated in his apology letter. “But of a truth, I am not proud of what I have done.”

The Fuji king specifically apologised to Nigerians, particularly the youth who look up to him as a role model, stating that his conduct “does not represent an acceptable act of role-modelling.” He also extended his apologies to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and security personnel who were affected by the incident.

While expressing gratitude to his fans for their continued support, K1 De Ultimate urged them to channel their energy constructively. He called for “a demonstration of rectitude that not only commits to respecting our institutions’ established protocols but also galvanising a collective resolve that holds our public conduct accountable.”

The musician promised to cooperate fully with authorities, stating: “I shall submit myself to relevant authorities and cooperate with prescribed imperatives that repair this unintended but avoidable lapse to assuage the natural indignation of air travel stakeholders home and abroad.”

The specific details of the airport incident that prompted this apology have not been fully disclosed, but the musician’s response suggests it involved some form of disruptive behavior that affected airport operations and personnel.

K1 De Ultimate, one of Nigeria’s most celebrated Fuji musicians, has built a career spanning several decades and commands a massive following across Nigeria and beyond.

K1 De Ultimate in a viral video that suggests near fatal incident, which took place on Tuesday, reportedly disrupted regular operational procedures, raising major concerns about passenger behaviour and compliance with aviation safety rules.
