Anthony Joshua Eyes Ring Return Ahead of Prenga Fight Amid Personal Tragedy

Anthony Joshua Eyes Ring Return Ahead of Prenga Fight Amid Personal Tragedy

**Headline:** Insecurity: Military Can Track Bandits Like Ordinary Citizens – Buratai Calls for Stronger Capacity Building Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (retd.), has expressed confidence in the ability of Nigeria’s security agencies to track down bandits, insisting that if they can locate ordinary citizens and social media users, they should also be able to trace criminal elements. Buratai made the remarks during an interview on TVC, amid growing public concern over recent abductions, including the kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, where a teacher was reportedly killed by the abductors. According to him, the security challenges facing the country may not necessarily be about lack of capacity alone, but also point to the need for improved training, recruitment, and overall strengthening of the system. “I don’t believe security agencies cannot locate bandits if they can locate ordinary citizens and social media influencers,” he said. He added that more personnel are needed across the security architecture, stressing the importance of continuous recruitment and retraining of soldiers and police officers to improve operational effectiveness. “We need more troops, more operatives, more policemen recruited, trained and retrained,” Buratai stated. Meanwhile, former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has alleged that the recent kidnapping incident in Oyo State may have been politically motivated, suggesting it could have been staged to discredit or blackmail the government. Fayose made the claim during an interview on Channels Television, where he also questioned the timing of the incident and raised concerns about possible political undertones. He further suggested that the incident might be linked to efforts aimed at undermining President Bola Tinubu’s administration, though his comments remain allegations and have not been substantiated.

The ancient town of Ishara Remo was aglow with royalty and dignitaries as His Royal Highness, Oba Albert Adebose Mayungbe, Erinsiba III, the Odemo of Ishara Remo, conferred chieftaincy titles on renowned Real Estate Player, Chief Peter Oluwole Ogunbayo and his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Eunice Abimbola JP, as the Bashorun and Yeye Bashorun of Ishara Remo, recently, Apples Bite Magazine reports.

The prestigious event, held at the Odemo Palace, was further elevated by the presence of distinguished guests, including His Excellency, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and other high-profile personalities.

The ceremony, steeped in tradition and cultural grandeur, also saw the newly installed chiefs receiving an additional honour as the Babalaje of Remo Land, conferred by His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, Torungbuwa II, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land.

The event was graced by prominent figures such as Asiwaju S.K. Onafowokan, Chief Bode Mustapha (Osi of Egbaland), and the entire council of Remo traditional rulers, underscoring the significance of the occasion.

Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, representing Ogun East, a respected political leader and former governor of Ogun State, added a touch of prestige to the event as he joined other dignitaries in celebrating the newly honored chiefs.

His attendance highlighted the unity and cultural pride shared among Remo’s elite and traditional institutions.

Following the conferment, a grand reception was held at the NUGA Planet Event Centre, where guests were treated to a display of rich Yoruba culture, music, and dance.

The event not only celebrated the Ogunbayo family but also reinforced the enduring traditions of Remo Kingdom.

The conferment of Chief Peter Oluwole Ogunbayo and Chief (Mrs.) Eunice Abimbola Ogunbayo JP marks another milestone in the preservation of Remo’s heritage, as the community continues to honor individuals who have contributed to its growth and development.
