Popular singer and dancer Ciara is giving back to the city that raised her.
Ciara recently launched a brand new dance studio for local youths in Atlanta, and fans have been reacting.
Marking the anniversary of “Ciara Day,” a date officially recognized by Atlanta 2 years ago, the Grammy-winning artist recently stormed ATL to celebrate with the thoughtful initiative.
Popular tabloid, Rolling Out, reports that the studio, situated within the John H. Harland Boys & Girls Club in the city’s West End, will be the first Why Not You Foundation Centre in Atlanta.
The musician co-founded the nonprofit with her husband, NFL quarterback Russell Wilson, with a mission to empower and motivate the next generation.
Ciara revealed that the programme is further proof that dance is not just about moving your body, but it is about connecting people.
According to her, the new studio will be a space where children can unite to build confidence, explore movement, and make genuine connections.
She concluded by thanking the city of Atlanta for setting a day aside to celebrate her and her legacy.
“Dance has always been about self-expression for me. It gives you energy, confidence, and helps connect people.
Thank you to the State and City for officially declaring July 28th, CIARA DAY. It’s my mission to continually make this a day of impact! Every child deserves a space to dream, create, and be seen. And this is just the beginning,” she wrote.
