A Senator representing Zamfara West senatorial zone, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Yari has cautioned Nigerians against joining the planned nationwide protest which started Thursday, August 1.

Addressing a mammoth crowd in his country home at Talata-Mafara on Wednesday, Senator Yari said, the pockets of protests would not solve the country’s problems, which according to him, have been in existence for decades.

He stressed that the protest would only worsen the situation as seen in many countries where such protests were carried out.

Yari explained that the present economic predicament was not created by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as insinuated by some mischievous persons, insisting that rather, the administration inherited the accumulated problems from the previous governments.

The senator expressed disgust that some people were trying to destroy the country by using the youths to protest against the Federal Government for selfish interest.

Yari stressed, “I want to call on the Nigerian youths to shun anything capable of destroying your country.

“You should not listen to those people who are pushing you to set your country on fire.

“They have a hidden agenda, but by the grace of God, they will never succeed.

“I believe that President Bola Tinubu is working round the clock to make Nigeria a better country where everyone will be proud of.

Senator Yari further explained that the Federal Government has carefully come up with several  relief packages aimed at cushioning the effect of both the oil subsidy removal and the foreign exchange rates.

Meanwhile, he assured the people of Zamfara State that he would redouble efforts in the provision of welfare packages.

He called on all Nigerians to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu so that he would take the country to greater heights.
