Former Psquare member Peter Okoye (Mr P) has publicly criticised his family following his court testimony against his elder brother Jude Okoye, who faces serious money laundering charges totalling N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.
In a pointed Instagram message posted just one day after appearing in the Federal High Court in Lagos, Peter appeared to distance himself from his family, writing: “Don’t let ‘family’ be the reason you’re drowning in silence. I did, for over 20 years plus. And it almost cost me everything.”
During his testimony, Peter alleged that Jude created a company called Northside Music Limited to launder Psquare funds, possibly in collaboration with Peter’s twin brother, Paul (Rudeboy). This new company closely resembled Jude’s original management company, Northside Entertainment Ltd.
The brothers, who were once Nigeria’s biggest music duo, initially split in 2017 due to family conflicts, briefly reunited in 2021, only to separate again in 2024.
“Family that steals and breaks you isn’t family at all,” Peter concluded in his emotional social media post, emphasising that his mental health now takes priority over family ties.
