Toyin Abraham has reached a career milestone as her comedy film Oversabi Aunty continues its impressive theatrical performance across Nigeria and West Africa.
The actress and filmmaker took to Instagram on Monday to express her appreciation for the overwhelming support. “I may not have the perfect words, but my heart is full,” she shared. “Thank You, Lord and thank you to every single person watching and supporting Oversabi Aunty. I am deeply grateful.”
Abraham encouraged fans to continue watching the film, which remains in cinemas. “Keep watching, keep spreading the word. I love you all,” she added.
Film distribution company FilmOne revealed that Oversabi Aunty has generated N711.5 million in just 18 days since its release, earning the distinction of becoming the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood production in West African cinema history.
“West Africa, you showed up and showed out in an Oversabi way,” FilmOne stated. “Thank you for the love. This win is for all of us.”
The achievement represents Abraham’s first film to cross the N700 million threshold, establishing a new personal benchmark in her filmmaking career. During its opening weekend, the movie secured the second position among the highest-grossing films.
Released on December 19, 2025, Oversabi Aunty tells the story of Toun, an enthusiastic church usher whose excessive involvement in others’ affairs repeatedly lands her in comedic predicaments.
The film features an ensemble cast including Mike Ezuruonye, Efe Irele, Queen Nwokoye, Jemima Osunde, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tana Adelana, and Toyin Afolayan.
Oversabi Aunty continues its theatrical run in Nigerian cinemas and is also screening in select UK locations, attracting audiences several weeks after its premiere.
