U.S. President Donald Trump has reacted to questions about pardoning Sean “Diddy” Combs if he is convicted.
Trump recently shared that he would look at the facts of the case before making his decision if it ever comes to that.
Speaking in the Oval Office, he said that even though no one has asked him directly about Diddy’s potential pardon, he knows many people are already thinking about it.
Trump noted that he’ll definitely consider the established facts of the case to know if people were mistreated or not.
According to him, it doesn’t matter if potential victims like him as a president or not, his job would be to make his findings and arrive at the best conclusion.
“Nobody’s asked about a pardon, but I know people are thinking about it. I know they’re thinking about it. I think some people have been very close to asking.
I would certainly look at the facts if I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me. It wouldn’t have any impact on me,” he said.
Trump further disclosed that he hasn’t spoken to Diddy in several years, but he still remembers the rapper liking him a lot back in the day.
“I haven’t spoken to him in years. He really liked me a lot,” he added.
Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently facing trial in a New York courtroom for racketeering and sexual trafficking.
He is facing life imprisonment if found guilty in his sex-trafficking trial.
